Junior Full Stack Developer - Banking and Finance

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer to join our team at Oepfelbaum IT Management AG, a trusted partner for large and medium-sized banks in Switzerland. This Junior Full Stack Developer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative financial applications in the banking and finance sector.

What You'll Do

• Implement business requirements from the banking and finance sector into a modern financial application using Java for the backend and Angular for the frontend.
• Actively participate in the analysis and specification of customer requirements while collaborating closely with stakeholders and experts.
• Enhance and optimize existing applications with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Initiate and implement technical optimizations along DevOps disciplines, including Jenkins pipeline optimization and automation of build and deployment processes.
• Contribute to cloud migration projects and the development of modern operational and architectural concepts.
• Ensure stable and efficient application operations throughout the entire lifecycle, from development to production.
• Introduce best practices, new technologies, and improvement suggestions within the project and team context.

Requirements

• Solid experience in full stack development with Java (backend) and Angular (frontend).
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring (Boot), Angular, and SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins, and a good understanding of modern DevOps principles.
• Experience in agile development environments, ideally with Scrum and/or SAFe.
• Experience in the banking or regulated environment is a plus, especially in handling complex business requirements.
• Familiarity with Kotlin, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL is advantageous.
• Understanding of software architectures, clean code, and sustainable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and a confident demeanor when interacting with clients.
• Very good German language skills (spoken and written) and good English proficiency.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
