Warehouse Team Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Team Manager to join our team at Wincanton. This Warehouse Team Manager remote position will allow you to lead and oversee the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring that service levels, productivity, and safety standards are consistently achieved. You will work closely with the Shift Manager in a fast-paced, unionized operational environment, making this an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills.

What You'll Do

• Lead warehouse operations across inbound and outbound activities, adapting to operational demands.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and safe systems of work at all times.
• Allocate labor effectively to meet workload, service, and productivity requirements.
• Supervise inbound activities including goods receipt, checking, putaway, and stock accuracy.
• Oversee outbound activities including picking, packing, consolidation, and dispatch.
• Monitor performance against SLAs and KPIs, supporting the delivery of daily targets.
• Support efficient labor use and cost control to minimize waste and unnecessary spending.
• Challenge unsafe behavior and poor standards, escalating issues when necessary.
• Assist in training, coaching, and induction of warehouse operatives.
• Act as the first point of contact for operational issues during your shift.

Requirements

• Previous warehouse supervisory or senior operative experience is essential.
• A strong understanding of warehouse health & safety requirements.
• Experience supervising both inbound and outbound warehouse activities.
• Proven track record of working to SLAs, KPIs, and productivity targets.
• Awareness of labor efficiency and cost control measures.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
