HR Manager - Remote Position at Animal Legal Defense Fund
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated HR Manager to join the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) in a remote capacity. As an HR Manager, you will play a vital role in enhancing our organizational culture and ensuring compliance with employment laws. What You'll Do
- Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies and policies that align with ALDF’s mission.
- Enhance the employee experience lifecycle by managing recruitment processes and improving talent acquisition strategies.
- Champion an inclusive workplace culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Provide support for employee relations, conflict resolution, and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee HR operations, including benefits administration and onboarding for new employees.
- Conduct training sessions to keep staff informed about HR trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop initiatives that support employee engagement and retention.
- Maintain knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred, or 5 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with labor relations experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion principles.
- Experience in talent acquisition and onboarding processes.
- Knowledge of HR software applications and U.S. employment laws.
- Ability to travel periodically for staff meetings.
- Experience in the nonprofit or legal sector is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with remote team management.
- Familiarity with employee engagement strategies.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
