About the Role

We are seeking a Policy Support Officer (Eastern Europe) remote to join our dynamic team at OSCE. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's comprehensive approach to security, addressing a wide range of security-related concerns across Eastern Europe. As a Policy Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing developments in the region, contributing to the formulation of relevant policy advice, and ensuring effective communication between the field operations and the Secretariat.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and analyze developments in Eastern Europe, providing policy advice to the Secretary General and Chairperson-in-Office.
  • Process reports from assigned field operations and contribute to performance-based program budgeting.
  • Draft background papers and reports, compiling briefing materials for senior officials.
  • Attend meetings, write summaries, and prepare reports for internal distribution.
  • Support the preparation of visits for senior OSCE officials to the region, including drafting reports on these visits.
  • Contribute to the coordination of programs and activities among field operations and OSCE specialized units.
  • Participate in CPC-related events and contribute to related tasks or projects as required.

Requirements

  • First-level university degree in political sciences, public or international law, international relations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of professional experience in government, international affairs, or law.
  • Experience in a diplomatic service or international organization is a significant asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Russian or other regional languages is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and maintain impartiality.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in project management.
  • Computer literate with practical experience using Microsoft applications.
