Head of Safety Management - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Safety Management to join our team at Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung. This remote opportunity allows you to lead the Safety Management department, ensuring the safe disposal of radioactive waste while contributing to the protection of people and the environment. As the Head of Safety Management, you will play a crucial role in addressing significant societal challenges.

What You'll Do

• Lead the Safety Management department, overseeing staff in accordance with technical, safety, and economic considerations.
• Plan and conduct internal audits for the implementation of the occupational management system according to DIN ISO 45001.
• Advise management and responsible parties on operational planning regarding facilities, equipment, and personal protective equipment necessary for safety and accident prevention.
• Analyze workplace accidents and compile accident statistics to enhance safety measures.
• Collaborate with partner companies, experts, and authorities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Certification as a Safety Specialist or Safety Engineer.
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in safety management, preferably in a mining operation.
• Proficient in MS Office, SAP, and ELO applications.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to Have

• Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance.
• Fluency in German and English.
