Head of Payments - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Payments - Remote to join our dynamic team at Vio.com, a leader in the travel industry. In this role, you will spearhead our payments strategy and operations, ensuring that our OTA Merchant of Record business operates smoothly and efficiently. This is a unique opportunity to shape the payment landscape of our company while working remotely from anywhere in the world.

What You'll Do

• Lead the payments strategy and operations for Vio's OTA business.
• Build a scalable multi-rail payment setup to enhance customer experience.
• Optimize payment performance and reduce costs across all payment channels.
• Manage commercial negotiations and maintain strong partner relationships.
• Ensure smooth Merchant of Record (MOR) operations, including refunds, disputes, and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to align payment strategies with business goals.
• Establish performance metrics and dashboards for payments to track success.
• Implement scalable workflows for disputes and refunds to enhance efficiency.
• Define foreign exchange (FX) and settlement strategies to minimize operational costs.
• Lead a cross-functional team towards shared goals, fostering collaboration and innovation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in payments, preferably within the travel or fintech sectors.
• Proven track record in designing and scaling payment systems effectively.
• Strong negotiation skills in processing fees and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Experience in collaborating with engineering teams on payment architecture.
• Solid understanding of MOR operations and fraud management practices.
• Ability to influence senior leadership in a fast-paced environment.
• Structured thinker with excellent communication skills.
