Frontend Software Engineer (React) - AI Patent Research Platform

About the Role

NLPatent is seeking a talented Frontend Software Engineer (React) remote to join our innovative team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will help build the core features of our AI-first patent research platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, including Large Language Models and machine learning, to revolutionize how users interact with patent data.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain user-friendly frontend applications using React and Next.js.
• Collaborate with the CTO and senior engineers to plan and execute product development.
• Implement data fetching and caching strategies using TanStack Query.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality code using tools like Jest and React Testing Library.
• Consume RESTful APIs and manage complex state using technologies such as React Context, Zustand, or Redux.
• Utilize version control workflows with Git.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 2+ years of commercial frontend engineering experience.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with React and Next.js (App Router).
• Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks.
• Understanding of complex state management solutions.
• Ability to work onsite in London 3 days a week.

Nice to Have

• Experience with End-to-End testing frameworks (e.g., Datadog, Cypress, Playwright).
• Knowledge of web performance optimization and Core Web Vitals.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Basic understanding of backend technologies (e.g., Python, Django, AWS).
• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles.
