Engineering Director - Quantum Computing (Remote Relocation Support)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to join an International Quantum Computing Leader, overseeing the Product Team based in San Sebastian, Spain. This Engineering Director role offers a unique opportunity to lead multiple engineering teams focused on model development and machine learning initiatives, all while enjoying relocation support to help you settle into your new role.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage engineering teams to ensure high performance and collaboration in model development.
• Drive strategic planning and execution of machine learning model development initiatives, aligning outcomes with company goals.
• Provide insights to decision makers on modeling trends and data-driven insights to define product priorities.
• Coordinate with Research, Platform, Marketing, and Leadership teams for integrated execution across model lifecycles.
• Implement best practices in model experimentation and evaluation methodologies for scalable results.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with milestones for model releases and evaluation benchmarks.
• Monitor project timelines and technical risks to maintain delivery excellence.
• Establish and evolve evaluation systems that measure model accuracy and fairness.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering or data science, including model development.
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing engineering or data-focused teams.
• Experience with Large Language Models and advanced ML architectures.
• Solid understanding of modern ML development pipelines and model evaluation frameworks.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse technical teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills and fluency in English.
