Remote Quality Engineer - Kubernetes & Database Focus

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated full-time remote Quality Engineer to join our K8s Operators Team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be an integral part of ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. This remote Quality Engineer role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

• Build quality into the product for Kubernetes Operators for relational and NoSQL databases.
• Focus on preventing design flaws in early stages and on automatic testing in CI/CD at later stages.
• Evaluate and improve Percona Operator products and new features based on test plans, discovering product issues and bugs.
• Contribute to the DevOps and release management lifecycle, coordinating, testing, and managing Operator releases.
• Collaborate with engineers and teams across the company to deploy and debug Kubernetes Operators.
• Research and recommend tools and strategies for improving test and release processes.
• Actively participate in architecture/design collaboration to prevent faulty architecture decisions before coding begins.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and experience in testing applications within containerized environments.
• Solid understanding of database systems, architecture, and performance, especially in a cloud or Kubernetes context.
• Experience in designing and implementing automated test scripts for databases, preferably with knowledge of Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Proficiency in Linux and capability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with programming languages for test automation.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Experience working in an Agile environment, using a test management tool for defect tracking and test management.

• Experience with Helm charts for Kubernetes deployment and OpenShift OLM for application lifecycle management.
