About the Role

Welocalize is seeking a passionate Czech Gaming Localization Linguist to join our remote team. In this role, you'll help shape engaging in-app content and user experiences that resonate with Czech-speaking audiences across various gaming genres and platforms. As a Czech Gaming Localization Linguist, you will translate and post-edit gaming-related content with precision and creativity, ensuring that the localized material is not only accurate but also culturally relevant.

What You'll Do

  • Translate and adapt gaming content, ensuring it reflects the tone, style, and structure that resonates with Czech gaming culture.
  • Post-edit translations to maintain linguistic accuracy and brand consistency across UI, banners, promotional assets, and in-game text.
  • Collaborate with our assessment team to complete brief testing in our platform, focusing on linguistic and creative tasks.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving content relevance and user engagement.
  • Utilize CAT tools effectively to adapt content for multiple platforms.

Requirements

  • Strong command of the Czech language and deep cultural fluency.
  • Experience in gaming, apps, or creative localization.
  • Familiarity with gaming terminology, trends, and genres.
  • Degree in linguistics, translation, or journalism.
  • Creative writing background preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Bonus if you have published work on gaming platforms like IGN, Polygon, Kotaku, Eurogamer, or similar.
  • Experience working with gaming or app-related services.
  • A flair for adapting voice and style to Gen Z or gaming-savvy audiences.
