About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Core Social Worker to join our Cancer Support Psychology & Social Work Team at Health New Zealand. This remote Core Social Worker position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of cancer patients and their families. You will support individuals from the early stages of investigation through to the completion of their treatment, addressing the psychosocial challenges that arise throughout their cancer journey.
What You'll Do

- Liaise with healthcare professionals and community organizations to ensure coordinated support.
- Perform occasional home visits, necessitating a full driver’s license.
- Contribute to staff education, service development initiatives, and research activities within the service.
Requirements
- Registered Social Worker with SWRB and a current APC.
- Experience in health social work or a strong desire to start your career in this field.
- Strong clinical assessment and report writing skills.
- Cultural awareness and understanding of diverse communities.
- Enthusiasm and professionalism in improving patient outcomes.
