Class B Route Driver - Local Delivery Role

About the Role

We are immediately hiring a Class B Route Driver to join our dynamic team at Schwan's Company. This local delivery role offers an exciting opportunity to build your career with a growing company known for popular retail brands such as Red Baron®, Tony's®, and Freschetta® pizza; Mrs. Smith's® and Edwards® desserts; bibigo® and Pagoda® Asian-style snacks. As a Class B Route Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products are available on store shelves, making this a vital position within our operations.

What You'll Do

• Deliver products to grocery stores, ensuring timely and accurate service as a Class B Route Driver.
• Complete local daily routes as planned to meet service expectations.
• Unload products and place them in the back room while collecting proof of delivery.
• Utilize handheld technology to complete daily work efficiently.
• Build in-store relationships and collaborate effectively with co-workers in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain compliance with DOT rules and regulations, performing truck inspections as required.

Requirements

• Previous delivery, grocery, or warehouse experience is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement and meet medical certification requirements; candidates must be 21 years or older.
• Ability to safely lift 35 pounds and move frozen products using appropriate equipment.
• Must meet pre-employment background check, drug test, and DOT physical requirements.

Nice to Have

• Experience in customer service or relationship building.
• Familiarity with local delivery routes in the Hutto area.
• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork.
