AI Systems Developer - Neonatal Nutrition Therapy (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for an AI Systems Developer to join our team remotely. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an autonomous environment and is eager to make a direct impact on neonatal care. As an AI Systems Developer, you will develop AI systems that leverage real-world clinical data to improve treatment strategies for critically ill newborns.
What You'll Do
- Design causal inference frameworks for treatment effect estimation from observational clinical data.
- Develop reinforcement learning models for safe and deployable treatment policies.
- Build dynamic treatment regime models optimizing sequential decisions across multi-week patient trajectories.
- Own data pipelines, feature engineering, and model training on multi-site datasets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers and clinicians.
- Publish research findings in top-tier venues.
Requirements
- Must reside within the United States (visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates).
- MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field; Bachelor's degree with significant research or development experience is also considered.
- First-author publications at top venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS, UAI, JMLR, or clinical AI venues).
- Strong proficiency in Python; fluency with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with time-series data.
Nice to Have
- Experience in causal inference, reinforcement learning, sequential decision-making, or dynamic treatment regimes.
- Healthcare data experience (EHR, longitudinal clinical records).
- Prior work on treatment effect heterogeneity or counterfactual prediction.
- Production ML/MLOps experience.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000 annually.
- Remote work flexibility.
- Opportunity to work on impactful projects that improve neonatal care.
- Access to professional development and training resources.
- Collaborative and innovative work environment.
This remote AI Systems Developer role offers a unique opportunity to impact neonatal care through AI technology. Competitive salary and professional growth await.
Who Will Succeed Here
Strong proficiency in Python programming and experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, enabling the development of complex AI models for neonatal care.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting, demonstrating excellent time management skills to balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
A foundational understanding of causal inference and reinforcement learning concepts, combined with a passion for applying these techniques to real-world clinical scenarios in neonatal nutrition therapy.
