About the Role
We are looking for a Working Student in Software Engineering (Data Backend) remote to join our dynamic team at MAPEGY. This is an exciting opportunity for students enrolled at a German university to gain hands-on experience in backend development while working remotely. As a Working Student in Software Engineering (Data Backend) remote, you will assist in the development and maintenance of data-driven backend systems, contributing to real-world projects that impact our clients.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data-driven backend systems.
- Support the team in implementing and maintaining backend systems.
- Participate in the development of server-side logic and database solutions.
- Help optimize backend applications for speed and efficiency.
- Engage in collaborative problem-solving and ensure quality product delivery.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming experience, particularly with PostgreSQL and Python.
- Understanding of core software engineering concepts and tools.
- Strong interest in data-driven applications and backend development.
- Prior experience or coursework in backend development, databases, or data structures is a plus.
- Experience with Docker, pglast, FastAPI, or Pydantic is a nice-to-have.

Who Will Succeed Here

Strong familiarity with Python, particularly in building RESTful APIs using FastAPI and validating data with Pydantic, showcasing the ability to implement backend functionalities efficiently.
Demonstrates self-motivation and strong time management skills suitable for remote work, with a proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies like Docker and pglast.
