M&A and Business Development Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role
Elia Group is seeking a highly experienced M&A and Business Development Manager to join our team. This remote opportunity allows you to play a crucial role in executing our M&A program while collaborating closely with key stakeholders across various departments.
What You'll Do
- Lead the evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities across the energy transition value chain, from preliminary screening to due diligence, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and closing of transactions.
- Develop robust financial models, conduct scenario analyses, and create investment cases to support strategic decisions.
- Coordinate with internal and external advisors (financial, legal, and technical) involved in M&A processes.
- Prepare investment documents, governance approvals, and presentations for management.
- Bridge corporate functions (Strategy, Finance, Innovation, Digital) with external partners to ensure strategic alignment and smooth execution.
- Prepare high-quality reporting, analyses, dashboards, and forecasts related to M&A activities, partnerships, and investment performance for management.
- Participate in Investor Relations communications when M&A activities intersect with the Group's investment narrative.
Requirements
- Master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in M&A, corporate finance, strategic consulting, or investment funds, preferably in the energy, digital, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven experience throughout the M&A process (from screening to transaction closing) with the ability to manage complex processes and a large number of stakeholders.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, making structured decisions supported by data.
- Curiosity and a desire for personal development, with a commitment to improving processes and exploring new trends.
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills to build trust and influence senior decision-makers.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German and Dutch is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the energy transition and digital business models.
- Familiarity with investment dynamics in infrastructure.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
