About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Mizell Memorial Hospital. This full-time position requires a proactive individual who is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services. As an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner remote, you will manage health problems and coordinate care for patients in accordance with state and federal regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including performing age-appropriate history and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests based on patient needs.
  • Diagnose patient problems and implement treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and manage patient treatment plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of patient care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality measures are met.
  • Participate in continuous education and maintain all required certifications.
  • Support the hospital’s mission to provide excellent customer service and healthcare.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school and Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner and licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
  • Experience with Athena EHR is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
  • Current Alabama Controlled Substance Certification and DEA certification are preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in urgent care or emergency settings.
  • Advanced communication skills for patient interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
