About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Mizell Memorial Hospital. This full-time position requires a proactive individual who is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services. As an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner remote, you will manage health problems and coordinate care for patients in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including performing age-appropriate history and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests based on patient needs.
- Diagnose patient problems and implement treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and manage patient treatment plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of patient care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality measures are met.
- Participate in continuous education and maintain all required certifications.
- Support the hospital’s mission to provide excellent customer service and healthcare.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school and Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner and licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Experience with Athena EHR is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
- Current Alabama Controlled Substance Certification and DEA certification are preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience in urgent care or emergency settings.
- Advanced communication skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
