About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Lead - Remote to join our innovative team at esure Group. This role is pivotal in shaping our digital transformation journey in the insurance sector. As a Technical Lead, you will manage a talented team of engineers dedicated to delivering exceptional software solutions and customer experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a squad of engineers, ensuring high technical standards and collaborative working with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams.
  • Utilize your hands-on software development expertise to guide the team in implementing innovative digital technologies.
  • Collaborate with Architects and Principal Engineers to evolve our technology choices and architecture.
  • Continuously improve engineering practices, focusing on code quality, testing, and CI/CD processes.
  • Actively participate in esure’s engineering community, sharing your technical expertise and advocating for tech changes beyond your squad.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead in a software development environment, particularly with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices, Jenkins, Docker, and ideally Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Ability to design and develop distributed, scalable, and highly available systems with a customer-centric approach.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, TDD, and BDD.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the insurance industry or FinTech.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks.
  • Previous experience in a remote working environment.
