Support Worker - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our team remotely and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will empower clients to live full, happy lives while supporting them with everyday tasks. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team at Southdown, a not-for-profit provider of accommodation, care, and support for adults with learning and physical disabilities.

What You'll Do

• Support clients in accessing their community through activities such as walks, cinema visits, and shopping trips.
• Assist clients with daily tasks including cleaning, cooking, and personal care.
• Encourage clients to build confidence and independence through empowering care.
• Engage in fun and meaningful interactions with clients to enhance their quality of life.
• Complete relevant training in health and social care, safeguarding, and risk management.

Requirements

• A patient and empathetic mindset is essential for this Support Worker role.
• Willingness to complete training in health and social care.
• Ability to support clients with intimate and personal care needs.
• Live within reasonable commuting distance of the service location or be willing to relocate.
• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be paid for by Southdown.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with clients with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
• Experience managing challenging situations, including aggressive behavior or distress.
• An understanding of medication types and administration methods.
