About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Summer Learning Principal - Elementary School to lead our summer educational programs. This role is crucial for managing the planning, staffing, assessment, and instructional leadership necessary to direct our instructional programs effectively. As a Summer Learning Principal, you will ensure the operational needs of the facility are met while fostering a safe and engaging learning environment for students.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the planning and execution of summer learning programs, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
  • Manage staffing and provide instructional leadership to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, parents, and the community to promote a collaborative educational environment.
  • Ensure the safety and security of students during transportation and program activities.
  • Evaluate and assess program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Develop effective working relationships with central office personnel and community stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative management to support the operational needs of the facility.
  • Be available after the program each day to facilitate safe transportation of students back to the summer program site.

Requirements

  • Must be a current FCPS employee with a Postgraduate Professional License and endorsement as a school principal or in administration and supervision of preK-12.
  • Five (5) years of experience in teaching and/or leadership is required.
  • Experience as a principal or assistant principal at the elementary level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of teaching theory and methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate school staff programs.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, parents, and the community.

  • Experience in managing summer programs or temporary educational initiatives.
