Internship in Continuous Improvement of Brake Component Testing

About the Role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Internship in Continuous Improvement of Brake Component Testing at NMBS. This internship will allow you to learn about the testing and revision of brake components within our dedicated team of approximately 35 employees. You will work under the guidance of a mentor, ensuring that the testing installations of the brake division remain operational. This internship is designed to provide you with flexible tasks and hands-on experience in a critical area of transportation.

What You'll Do

• Learn how to maintain and optimize automated testing programs for brake components.
• Contribute to the automation of brake testing procedures using programming languages such as LabVIEW, VB, and C# with .NET.
• Design technical drawings using CAD software.
• Develop maintenance plans and work instructions for testing installations and brake components.
• Engage in problem-solving activities related to daily operational issues.
• Collaborate with your mentor on spontaneous projects to enhance your learning experience.

Requirements

• Education Level: Master’s degree in Electromechanics or related field.
• Duration: Minimum 1 month internship, starting from September 2026.
• Basic IT knowledge is required.
• Language proficiency: Dutch is essential.
• Ability to read and understand technical plans and schematics.

Nice to Have

• Experience with programming in LabVIEW, VB, and C#.
• Familiarity with CAD software for technical drawing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
