What You'll Do

• Engage in hands-on coding and system building, addressing complex technical challenges.
• Utilize data to drive behavioral changes and accountability across Monzo.
• Set technical and strategic direction across backend systems, data pipelines, and CI/CD processes.
• Enhance the reliability of our platform by building tools and guardrails that facilitate resilient choices.
• Mentor and support engineers, fostering a culture of quality and product integrity.

Requirements

• Strong background in modern platform tooling and software development.
• Significant experience in designing and operating robust backend services using strongly-typed languages.
• Expertise in testing and quality at scale, including E2E testing and reliability practices.
• Ability to influence technical direction using data and effective communication.
• Experience in improving developer experience through better systems and tooling.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI applications in quality assurance.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP.
• Background in data-intensive systems or real-world ML deployments.
