About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to join our team at Joko, where we help consumers shop smarter. As a Staff Platform Engineer remote, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading our platform efforts, ensuring that our infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and efficient.

What You'll Do

• Enhance our production infrastructure to ensure scalability and resilience, focusing on runtime reliability and capacity.
• Develop best-in-class observability for monitoring and alerting, improving incident response and on-call quality.
• Optimize our architecture to balance reliability, performance, and cloud costs, identifying major cost drivers.
• Improve developer experience by treating engineering workflows as a product, accelerating CI/CD and releases.
• Establish a security baseline across infrastructure, implementing pragmatic solutions that scale with the team.
• Define the platform roadmap, align stakeholders, and lead cross-team initiatives to enhance platform practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in operating and evolving production systems with a focus on observability and reliability.
• Strong DevOps and automation mindset, with a track record of improving CI/CD and developer productivity.
• Comfortable making architectural decisions that balance reliability, latency, and cloud costs.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure security fundamentals.
• Experience with AWS or equivalent cloud services, familiarity with IaC and modern deployment patterns is a plus.
• Strong software engineering foundations and a focus on design quality and maintainability.
• Product-minded with sensitivity to user experience and performance metrics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex codebases.
