Site Manager (Civils) - Remote Opportunities
About the Role
We are seeking a Site Manager (Civils) to join our team at Iberdrola, focusing on energy infrastructure projects across Scotland. This remote Site Manager (Civils) position offers a competitive salary of up to £60,500, complemented by a robust benefits package and excellent overtime opportunities. As part of our commitment to a cleaner, greener energy system, you will play a pivotal role in managing construction outputs and leading the safe delivery of civils work packages across our Transmission projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead the on-site management and delivery of contracted civils works packages, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Act as Principal Contractor, ensuring adherence to Environmental and CDM regulations.
- Provide technical expertise on civil and structural works, including inspection regimes and testing requirements.
- Drive commercial and programme performance by monitoring time, cost, and quality against agreed plans.
- Coordinate with Transmission Planners and Operational teams to ensure safe system access and minimize network impacts.
- Establish and monitor contractor quality management systems to achieve compliance and optimize lifecycle performance.
- Engage effectively with landowners, stakeholders, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Work collaboratively with contractors to ensure safe, productive, and positive site environments.
Requirements
- Significant experience in managing civils construction works within a transmission or heavy infrastructure environment.
- Strong understanding of civil and structural design drawings, inspection processes, and testing regimes.
- Knowledge of temporary works, groundworks, foundations, and structures in a substation setting.
- Experience delivering the Principal Contractor role under CDM regulations.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong planning and organizational capability.
- Proficiency with IT systems and Microsoft Office.
- Current SMSTS (5-day) qualification.
Nice to Have
- HND in Engineering/Construction or equivalent site management experience.
- Experience in the power sector.
- Confidence working in remote, challenging environments with a high degree of autonomy.
