About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer II - Data Platform to join our team at Pantheon. As a Software Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of data at Pantheon, a leading WebOps platform that powers over 300,000 sites globally. This remote software engineer position allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to our dynamic team.

What You'll Do

  • Build scalable, reliable data systems while maintaining SLOs for business-critical pipelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Product, Sales Ops, and Finance to deliver impactful data solutions.
  • Support self-service tooling and foster a data-driven culture across Pantheon’s teams.
  • Contribute to the technical strategy and operations of Pantheon’s data platform.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
  • Implement best practices for data architecture, testing, pipeline reliability, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in building production services with a focus on data engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Go for building maintainable components.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL with relational databases like MySQL and Postgres.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization (Docker, OCI), and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and Looker.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in designing scalable data models for OLAP and OLTP systems.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A quality mindset with an understanding of integrating automated test coverage into deployment pipelines.
