About the Role

Join Humana as a Senior Responsible AI Data Scientist and be part of a caring community that prioritizes health. In this remote role, you will champion the ethical development of artificial intelligence across our organization, ensuring that our AI systems are innovative, high-impact, and aligned with Humana’s core values and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

  • Support initiatives to ensure responsible use of AI across the enterprise, including model risk assessments and fairness evaluations.
  • Champion transparency, accountability, and trust in all AI and data science practices.
  • Drive and contribute to R&D efforts to advance innovative, high-impact, and ethically-grounded AI solutions in healthcare.
  • Design and implement processes, tools, and frameworks for the evaluation, monitoring, and documentation of AI systems.
  • Stay current with emerging research, regulations, and industry best practices in Responsible AI.
  • Partner cross-functionally with legal, compliance, IT, and education teams to operationalize Responsible AI principles.
  • Support and help evolve Humana’s Responsible AI governance initiatives, policies, and standards.
  • Serve as an internal consultant and subject matter expert on Responsible AI topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or PhD in a quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in development of Python software tools and applications for data scientists.
  • Extensive hands-on experience developing and deploying Generative AI and traditional machine learning applications at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience developing tools, frameworks, or processes that operationalize Responsible AI principles.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical and ethical considerations to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience working in healthcare or highly regulated industries.
  • Record of publication or thought leadership in Responsible AI or related fields.
