Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Remote
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will ensure the quality of a "Frictionless" credit card application app, focusing on front-end user experience and scaling automation capabilities. This is a 12-month contract position with a competitive pay rate of $77.00 per hour.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Execute manual test plans for a high-traffic application, ensuring a seamless user interface for credit card applications.
- Lead quality efforts across the full Software Testing Life Cycle, from requirements review to first-event production validation.
- Utilize SQL to query databases, identify test accounts, and verify that back-end application behavior aligns with UI outputs.
- Support the transition from manual to automated testing by utilizing Cypress and Selenium.
- Identify, track, and report intricate quality challenges in Jira, managing the defect lifecycle and communicating risks to developers and stakeholders.
- Develop first-events validation plans, including backout mitigation and post-install support for new system and client enhancements.
- Partner with external clients for onboarding and technical integration, acting as the bridge between business requirements and technical execution.
Requirements
- 8+ years of functional testing experience specifically within the Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) industries.
- Deep hands-on experience with Cypress, Jira, qTest, and SQL (DB2 or similar).
- A proven track record of testing front-end web applications and ensuring frictionless user journeys.
- Strong background in Agile, API Testing, and Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD).
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science / Information Technology. ISTQB, CSTP, or CAT certifications are highly desirable.
