About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Protocol Engineer - Web3 Development to join our team at Alchemy. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to the mission of bringing web3 to a billion people. As a Protocol Engineer, you will architect and build distributed protocols that enhance our developer platform, ensuring the same level of security, speed, and stability as our existing solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Design and architect distributed protocols with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
  • Write, deploy, and test smart contracts while maintaining them in production.
  • Develop and implement best practices for protocol upgrades and versioning across various networks.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams on user-facing applications built around our smart contract protocols.
  • Mentor fellow engineers on Solidity and EVM best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest Solidity releases, developer tooling, and security exploits.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 2+ years of smart contract development, including production deployments of original protocols and related security audits.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field.
  • Extreme proficiency with Solidity and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
  • Experience in designing distributed protocols and high-traffic smart contracts.
  • Ability to balance rapid shipping with building stable infrastructure.
  • Passion for blockchain technologies and Web3.
  • A hustler mentality with experience in startups or personal projects is a plus!

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing a protocol with significant Total Value Locked (TVL).
