Chef - Culinary Expert for Hospitality

About the Role

We’re hiring a Chef to join our team at Imphal Barracks in York. This Chef role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your culinary skills while working in a supportive environment. What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services as a Chef.
• Provide silver service-level catering for various events and functions.
• Follow recipe cards and maintain excellent food safety standards.
• Support stock control, place food orders, and keep kitchen records updated.
• Monitor equipment temperatures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Participate in daily and weekly deep cleaning of the kitchen.
• Coach and support new team members as they develop their culinary skills.

Requirements

• Relevant culinary qualifications (706/1, 706/2 or equivalent).
• A confident team player with strong communication skills.
• Flexibility and a proactive attitude with a willingness to bring new ideas.
• Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks.
• Must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and legally able to work in the UK.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and food allergies.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
