Senior Product Engineer II - Remote Publishing Platform

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Product Engineer II to join our remote team at Kit. As a Senior Product Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in building our publishing platform, helping creators grow their businesses. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with a talented team dedicated to supporting creators.

What You'll Do

• Join the Builders team to develop Kit's core publishing platform and enhance creator growth experiences.
• Architect complex features and collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Engage in hands-on development as a product-minded full-stack engineer.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our technical practices and code quality.
• Lead and architect major features from concept to launch, transforming our legacy codebase through strategic refactoring.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in developing complex web applications with beautiful user experiences using React, JavaScript, and modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or other backend frameworks, with a willingness to learn Rails.
• Ability to architect scalable and maintainable systems with a solid understanding of frontend testing practices.
• Strong communication skills to tailor messages to different audiences and drive team clarity.
• Experience leading complex technical projects from ideation to launch, taking ownership to drive clarity and anticipate risks.

Nice to Have

• Experience building rich text editors using frameworks like SlateJS or ProseMirror.
• Experience shipping user-facing AI features.
• Background in the creator economy or publishing platforms.
