Senior Product Counsel - Remote Legal Advisor for SaaS

About the Role

Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Product Counsel to join our dedicated legal team. This Senior Product Counsel remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in open-source technology. As a key legal advisor, you'll support product development and strategy, ensuring compliance and risk management across various legal matters.

What You'll Do

• Conduct legal risk assessments for product features throughout the feature lifecycle.
• Review, advise, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including complex inbound and outbound licenses.
• Develop scalable product review processes and legal playbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business teams on legal, regulatory, and corporate matters.
• Partner closely with security and privacy teams on proactive program building.
• Advise on governance and commercialization of AI features.
• Assist with efforts around privacy-by-design and security-by-design.
• Draft and negotiate complex software license agreements.

Requirements

• JD and bar admission in good standing in at least one state in the U.S or equivalent.
• 5+ years of technology-related in-house legal experience with a software company.
• 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Significant experience with data protection laws and AI regulation.
• Experience negotiating non-standard and strategic licensing agreements.
• Strong business acumen and client service skills.
