Senior Mobile Automation QA Engineer - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Mobile Automation QA Engineer to join our dynamic team at OBRIO. As a Senior Mobile Automation QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in scaling mobile automation as a strategic function within our product. This opportunity allows you to work remotely while contributing to a product that impacts the lives of over 70 million users globally.
What You'll Do
- Develop and launch Android automation as a fully functional working practice.
- Create a stable regression suite to ensure high-quality releases.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD processes for faster releases with fewer defects in production.
- Enhance the technical maturity of the QA function through mentorship and guidance.
- Write automated tests for critical user flows, including onboarding, subscriptions, and core features.
- Analyze and stabilize flaky tests to improve overall testing reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Backend, Frontend, Mobile, and DevOps.
- Report on automation metrics to track progress and improvements.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in automation, with at least 2 years focused on mobile automation.
- Proficiency in native Android automation using Kotlin + Jetpack Compose or Java + Appium.
- Experience designing frameworks from scratch and integrating CI/CD for automated tests.
- Familiarity with Android SDK, emulators, real devices, or device farms.
- Knowledge of API testing using tools like REST Assured or Retrofit.
- Strong Git skills, including branching strategies and PR workflows.
Nice to Have
- Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Bitrise for CI/CD integration.
- Background in mentoring junior QA engineers.
- Understanding of mobile automation pyramid concepts.
