About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to join our team at Zelis Healthcare. This remote position is pivotal in modernizing the healthcare financial experience. As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating our Kubernetes platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our clients and partners.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and operationalize a Kubernetes platform on AWS, supporting multi-account and multi-region deployments.
  • Define platform capabilities including compute autoscaling, pod networking, and load balancing.
  • Manage EKS cluster configurations and oversee lifecycle management of worker nodes.
  • Implement security controls and compliance frameworks to safeguard our infrastructure.
  • Drive standardization in tooling and automation across Kubernetes clusters.
  • Develop templates and automation to empower developers in utilizing the Kubernetes platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities with business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud-native infrastructure, with deep expertise in Kubernetes.
  • Proven track record of designing and operating production-grade Kubernetes platforms in AWS environments.
  • Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code, particularly with CDK using Python.
  • Experience with security controls, RBAC, and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with GitOps workflows and container security.
  • Exposure to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure App Service for Containers.
  • Experience in regulated industries like healthcare or finance.
