About the Role

NextDecade is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our dynamic team. This Senior Human Resources Business Partner remote position is integral to our continued growth, supporting the business by building strong relationships with local management, key stakeholders, and employees. You will lead strategic HR initiatives and provide day-to-day HR support, drawing on your strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of HR policies, practices, and processes.

What You'll Do

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to managers and employees on performance management, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Independently manage and conduct employee relations investigations, including fact-finding, documentation, risk assessment, and recommendations.
  • Lead efforts to attract, onboard, and develop top talent by partnering with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
  • Support training and development initiatives throughout the year, ensuring employees remain informed, engaged, and equipped for success.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local management, key stakeholders, and employees to understand and address HR needs and business challenges.
  • Drive HR initiatives that support business objectives and strengthen a positive, inclusive work culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance HR programs and processes while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Support employee mobilizations to Brownsville, TX, ensuring smooth transitions and a positive relocation experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on employee relations, training, and development.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law as it relates to workplace conduct and performance management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems like Workday.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive decision-making through strong relationship-building.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SPHR, PHR) are a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience working in oil & gas or similar industries.
