Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer - Remote Game Development

About the Role

Scopely is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer remote to join our Monopoly GO! game team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team spread across the UK, Spain, Portugal, and the US, dedicated to creating captivating gaming experiences. As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer remote, you will play a crucial role in developing one of our largest games, which has already garnered over 10 million daily active users (DAU).

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cyber-security, data engineers, product managers, and tech leadership, to enhance game integrity.
• Utilize your expertise in modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Go, or C++ to develop and maintain our game infrastructure.
• Work with our tech stack, which includes Unity for mobile game development and a .NET/C# back-end, leveraging AWS services like EC2, DynamoDB, and Redis.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Bamboo, and Spinnaker to streamline our development processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application performance using tools such as Datadog, Bugsnag, and Kibana.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on full-stack development.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (C#, Java, Go, C++, etc.) and a willingness to learn C#/.NET.
• Fundamental understanding of Unity or similar game engines.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and services like DynamoDB, Redis, and EC2.
• Good understanding of distributed systems and their challenges, such as concurrency and latency.

Nice to Have

• Experience collaborating with game design and product teams.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and anti-cheat systems.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new areas of the system, including native mobile code.
