Senior Data Scientist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist remote to join our dynamic team at Xelvin. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the forecasting models that support the operations of one of Europe’s busiest airports. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will leverage your expertise to enhance decision-making processes and improve passenger flow management.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and operationalize forecasting models that drive planning and decision-making.
• Develop, productionize, and maintain machine learning models and data pipelines for forecasting.
• Implement monitoring and observability to ensure model performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with ML engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Explore and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
• Align technical solutions with product strategy in close cooperation with the Product Owner.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in machine learning or data science.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Proven experience with MLOps and cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and deploying models in production.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to distinguish core problems from secondary issues.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

• Experience with MLflow, PySpark, or Streamlit is a strong plus.
