About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team at Anchorage Digital, a leading crypto platform. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions. At Anchorage Digital, we empower institutions to participate in digital assets through custody, staking, trading, governance, and settlement, all backed by industry-leading security infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Drive the system architecture and technical direction for our Settlement Network business.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to plan, build, and maintain high-quality software.
  • Review code across the entire stack and actively participate in product development.
  • Implement high-quality code that is functional, performant, clear, concise, and well-tested.
  • Mentor and guide engineers on the team, fostering their technical skill development.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience building API-first backend services (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native microservices.
  • Passion for building automated tests alongside features.
  • Real-world experience with complex distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.

Nice to Have

  • Professional experience with C++ or Go.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Background in system security (authentication, authorization, identity).
  • Experience in the finance industry.
