Senior Backend Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Remote to join our dynamic team at HI Technology & Innovation. In this role, you will optimize SQL performance and prepare for significant data volume increases while working with a client processing approximately 10,000 requests per second and managing around 3TB of relational data. What You'll Do

• Optimize SQL performance to effectively scale data volumes.
• Utilize technologies including Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Refactor ORM hotspots and implement caching strategies to enhance system performance.
• Profile and eliminate slow queries to ensure high efficiency.
• Mentor mid-level developers and enforce code quality standards across the team.
• Work with AWS services and implement CI/CD practices.
• Craft and test raw SQL to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience, specifically with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Deep experience in PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Aurora/RDS operations.
• Practical knowledge of Redis for caching.
• Experience with CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions and Docker.
• Strong ability to bypass ORMs for crafting raw SQL.

Nice to Have

• Experience in mentoring junior developers.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python or Go.
