Head of AI & Automation - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of AI & Automation to join our innovative team at n8n. This remote position offers you the opportunity to drive company-wide adoption of AI and automation, creating a modern, efficient, and enjoyable workplace. As the Head of AI & Automation, you will play a crucial role in transforming n8n into a visible exemplar of how SaaS companies can effectively integrate AI into their operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead internal adoption programs by designing and running hackathons, enablement sessions, and dogfooding initiatives that boost daily AI and automation usage.
• Build repeatable programs with clear success metrics such as participation, satisfaction, and business impact.
• Partner with People Ops to embed AI and automation habits into onboarding, learning & development, and performance rituals.
• Conduct structured AI watch to track market trends, peer practices, and emerging tools, translating insights into prioritized pilots and process improvements.
• Define guardrails and best practices that balance speed, safety, and measurable outcomes.
• Ensure the creation of reusable internal assets and external-facing content that showcases our AI and automation practices.
• Collaborate with Marketing to amplify internal success stories and thought leadership.
• Lead the Automation team, managing a growing team while setting vision, OKRs, and performance standards.

Requirements

• Proven team leadership experience, having led managers and individual contributors while setting clear standards.
• Technical fluency in AI concepts, with the ability to evaluate tools, risks, and opportunities.
• Hands-on experience with automation platforms, ideally n8n or similar, and real business use cases.
• Experience in driving internal adoption programs that changed behaviors at scale.
• Ability to translate market trends into actionable programs, playbooks, and internal content.

Nice to Have

• B2B SaaS experience in a high-growth environment.
• Engineering background comfortable with technical discussions and solution design.
• Strong storytelling and content creation skills for both internal and external audiences.
• Experience facilitating programs like hackathons or internal innovation initiatives.
