About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer - Remote to join our team and play a vital role in developing and maintaining the execution engine that powers our automation platform. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to a project that impacts how users automate their workflows effectively.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain the execution engine for handling millions of daily runs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Improve system performance, reduce latency, and strengthen failure handling to enhance user experience.
- Design and implement execution primitives that facilitate reliable automation processes.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, product, and platform teams on core system design.
- Lead complex technical projects, making critical design decisions and guiding implementation efforts.
- Coach and support teammates, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Strong backend experience in Python, Django, TypeScript, or Node.js.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with event-driven systems.
- Proven leadership in complex technical projects, making design decisions, and guiding implementation.
- Ability to coach and support teammates while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Confidence in navigating ambiguity and aligning stakeholders toward meaningful outcomes.
- Willingness to learn and utilize AI tools for improving efficiency.
