Senior Backend Engineer - Intents API for DeFi Solutions

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer - Intents API to join our innovative team at LI.FI. This remote position is crucial for developing our core off-chain coordination service, enhancing the user experience in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.

What You'll Do

• Lead the technical direction and implementation of the central off-chain coordination system for our next-generation architecture.
• Design, implement, and maintain highly available, low-latency APIs using Node.js/TypeScript and the NestJS framework.
• Develop advanced validation mechanisms to ensure data integrity and prevent fraudulent activity within the system.
• Build and optimize infrastructure for real-time broadcasting of validated data to liquidity providers and execution partners.
• Integrate with data indexing services to monitor and track the lifecycle of core system objects across distributed environments.
• Implement logic for data aggregation, caching, and partner reputation to enhance user experience.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential security vulnerabilities in the coordination flow.
• Collaborate with Smart Contract and Product teams, ensuring comprehensive documentation for backend architecture and APIs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with a focus on high-throughput, mission-critical services.
• Expert proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js, with extensive experience using the NestJS framework.
• Deep understanding of blockchain data and security primitives, including EIP-712 signatures.
• Experience designing and scaling real-time communication systems (e.g., WebSockets, Redis).
• Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and optimizing complex queries.
• Strong system design skills for building fault-tolerant and highly available microservices.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools to maintain system health.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive complex projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with blockchain indexing services (e.g., Goldsky, The Graph).
• Familiarity with Intent-centric architectures or off-chain order matching systems.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and cloud-native deployments (Kubernetes, AWS).
