Remote Product Manager - API & Platform for Automated Video Editing

About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Product Manager for our API & Platform team at Descript. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of an exciting new category: automated video editing. Media companies are eager to transform thousands of podcast episodes into engaging social clips, marketing teams want to automatically generate product demos for every release, and agencies are looking to process client content in bulk with consistent branding. As the Product Manager, you'll build and own the platform that enables these transformations. You'll create APIs that allow developers to programmatically import media, run AI-powered edits, and export content, effectively turning Descript's powerful editing capabilities into a reliable infrastructure for media businesses.

What You'll Do

• Own the API and developer experience that enables teams to create content workflows at scale.
• Launch integrations that unlock new use cases, including MCP wrappers, no-code workflow platforms, and strategic partner integrations.
• Collaborate closely with our Agentic AI team to influence the editing capabilities we build and how they are exposed through the API.
• Define and prioritize the product roadmap based on user feedback and market trends.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, preferably in API or platform development.
• Strong understanding of media workflows and automated editing processes.
• Experience working with developers and technical teams to create user-friendly APIs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proven track record of launching successful products in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the media and entertainment industry.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in content creation.
• Knowledge of no-code platforms and their integration with APIs.
