Trading Assistant - Local (Retail)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Trading Assistant - Local to join our team at Sainsbury's. As a Trading Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our store is ready for customers, providing a convenient and speedy shopping experience. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to work in a dynamic retail environment. You will be responsible for collecting stock from the warehouse, serving customers at checkouts, and maintaining the store's cleanliness and presentation. This Trading Assistant role offers a chance to engage with customers and contribute to the overall success of our store.

What You'll Do

• Work as part of a small team to ensure all aspects of the store are ready for customers.
• Collect stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) to replenish shelves across the store.
• Serve customers on checkouts and assist with deliveries.
• Maintain a clean and tidy store environment.
• Pick and select the best quality products for customers using our On-demand grocery ordering service.
• Assist customers with Click & Collect parcels.
• Build knowledge about our products, services, and promotions to provide recommendations.
• Date check fresh produce and grocery products.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 due to the handling of certain goods.
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
• Friendly and welcoming demeanor with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean store.
• Willingness to learn new digital tools and technology.
• Flexibility to work across various tasks and responsibilities.

Nice to Have

• Experience in retail or customer service.
• Knowledge of grocery products and services.
