About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Fullstack Engineer II to join our Tutor Platform team at Khan Academy. As a Remote Fullstack Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our educational platform, which aims to provide a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere. You will work on integrating state-of-the-art learning science into our products, enabling learners and teachers to quickly identify and address learning gaps.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain robust web applications that support our educational mission.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement features that improve user experience.
• Integrate learning science principles into our platform to enhance educational outcomes.
• Build tools that empower teachers to effectively use Khan Academy in their classrooms.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a Fullstack Engineer, with a focus on web applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Experience with backend technologies like Node.js, Express, or similar.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Passion for education and a commitment to improving learning outcomes for all students.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the EdTech industry or with educational platforms.
• Familiarity with database technologies such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of cloud services like AWS or Google Cloud.
