About the Role

We are seeking a talented Refueling and Remote Handling Engineer to join our team at Protingent. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in the nuclear engineering field. As a Refueling and Remote Handling Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of remotely operated tools and systems that enhance reactor servicing efficiency and safety.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development of solutions to complex engineering problems, utilizing creativity and innovation.
• Provide system engineering input for the design of reactor servicing tools and inspection equipment.
• Prepare, review, and check engineering reports, specifications, and design documents.
• Collaborate with the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Component design organization to ensure functional requirements are met.
• Work closely with Systems Engineering and Operations to develop integrated tool design schemes.
• Mentor and train other engineers in best practices and engineering standards.
• Manage procurement activities related to equipment design and testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team's objectives.

Requirements

• A B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in engineering design processes.
• Demonstrated experience in designing mechanical handling equipment and systems.
• Proficiency in preparing and checking mechanical design documents.
• Prior experience in a nuclear operating environment is a plus.

Nice to Have

• A PE license in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering.
• Experience with remote handling systems and robotic tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
