Principal Software Engineer - OIPA (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Principal Software Engineer - OIPA to join our team at Compunnel Inc. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in developing policy administration systems using Oracle Policy Administration System (OIPA). You will play a crucial role in modernizing and testing Annuity contract generation and account opening applications.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain policy administration systems using OIPA, focusing on configuration language, integration, and data extraction patterns.
• Implement application security measures, manage release processes, and build OIPA extensions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions for our applications.
• Utilize your knowledge of Java and Oracle to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
• Write SQL queries and debug stored procedures within an Oracle environment.
• Participate in quarterly onsite meetings to align with the team and stakeholders.
• Apply design patterns and methodologies such as Test Driven Development (TDD) using tools like Junit, Jasmine, and Protractor.
• Contribute to the cloud migration efforts, utilizing AWS or Kubernetes where applicable.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in developing policy administration systems using OIPA.
• Strong expertise in Java and Oracle database management.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and services platforms, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work in a UNIX and Windows environment.
• Leadership qualities with a self-starter attitude.
• AWS Certification is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with modern IDEs like Spring Tool Suite and Eclipse.
