Crop Protection Operative - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Crop Protection Operative to join our team at Vitacress Herbs. This remote position offers you the chance to play a vital role in keeping our herbs healthy and vibrant. You will be responsible for applying biological controls and pesticides, ensuring our crops remain pest-free and meet production goals.

What You'll Do

• Safely apply biological controls and pesticides to crops.
• Identify early signs of pests and diseases to implement timely interventions.
• Support the design of pest and disease control strategies.
• Help plan and execute spray application programs.
• Maintain accurate records of pest control activities and crop health.
• Provide assistance to the wider crop production team as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in protected plant production systems.
• PA1, PA2 & PA6 pesticide application qualifications.
• Good level of English and Maths.
• Excellent observation and communication skills.
• A positive, caring attitude and ability to adapt to change.
• A team-focused approach with a willingness to undertake training.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of pest and disease recognition.
• Awareness of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
• Ability to work confidently with a diverse range of people.
