Principal Site Reliability Engineer - GCP
About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer (GCP) remote to join our dynamic team at Veson Nautical. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and supporting our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. As a key player in our organization, you will help navigate the complexities of our rapidly growing SaaS platform, ensuring that we deliver reliable and scalable services to our clients.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
- Oversee the provisioning and management of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Drive automation initiatives for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of platforms.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.
- Lead incident response efforts and ensure service uptime.
- Develop automation, monitoring, and management solutions.
- Prepare infrastructure for integration and future growth.
Requirements
- Previous experience working on a large-scale Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform supporting thousands of global users in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Operational experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Programming or scripting experience in Python, Bash, or a similar language.
- Experience with cloud cost management including budgeting, anomaly detection, and cost analysis.
- Highly desirable: Previous experience architecting large Google Cloud infrastructure.
- Experience deploying, operating, and monitoring Elasticsearch clusters.
- Nice to have: KEDA / ArgoCD, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery database management experience.
