About the Role

We are seeking a talented Power Systems Engineer for Advanced Analytics to join our dynamic team at Electric Power Group. This remote Power Systems Engineer position focuses on developing advanced analytics software solutions to address real-world power grid challenges. As part of our team, you will contribute to innovative projects that enhance the reliability and stability of electric power systems.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and enhance algorithms for real-world problems in oscillation and modal analysis, inertia monitoring, and dynamic alarming.
  • Execute engineering software tests to identify algorithm inconsistencies and ensure high-quality solutions.
  • Conduct root cause assessments to determine issues and provide engineering recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and software development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive engineering design and testing documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to management and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Strong background in Power Systems Engineering and relevant knowledge.
  • Proficiency in power flow simulations and experience with tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and MATLAB.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C#.
  • Familiarity with data-driven analytics and AI/ML algorithms.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WAMS technology and ML-based forecasting.
  • Background in software development and data visualization.
