Payroll Specialist - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for our Popeyes brand. This Payroll Specialist remote role requires prior payroll experience and the ability to manage high-volume, multi-state payroll operations. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance, maintaining employee trust, and supporting our Field Leaders.
What You'll Do
- Process bi-weekly payroll for over 5,000 employees.
- Validate payroll data, including hours worked, wage adjustments, new hires, terminations, and transfers.
- Review and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy before final submission.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage/hour laws.
- Assist with year-end processes, including W-2s, tax filings, and audits.
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive payroll information.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Keep meticulous records of employee data (timesheets, pay rates, deductions).
Requirements
- 2+ years of payroll experience (high-volume, multi-state environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour compliance, and tax regulations.
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Utilize ADP (Workforce Now, Vantage, or similar) to manage payroll processing, reporting, and employee records.
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong Excel and reporting skills, with the ability to analyze and audit data.
- Experience in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required!
