Paralegal/​Legal Assistant III - Remote Position

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Paralegal/Legal Assistant III to join our team remotely. In this role, you will support the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in their mission to combat crime. As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant III, you will play a crucial role in analyzing case materials, preparing legal documents, and assisting attorneys in pretrial preparations.

What You'll Do

• Assist attorneys in reviewing case materials, including gathering and analyzing information.
• Evaluate new and complex cases to determine probable cause and the need for further evidence.
• Conduct legal research using various tools and public information databases.
• Interview federal agents and law enforcement officers to gather evidence and witness availability.
• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, and proposed orders for court proceedings.
• Organize and manage files, documents, and exhibits efficiently.
• Summarize documents and proceedings to assist attorneys in case preparation.
• Provide training to other personnel as needed.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
• Proficient in legal research tools and public information databases.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Nice to Have

• Experience in criminal law or with the DEA.
• Familiarity with case management software.
• Certification from a recognized paralegal program.
